The combined nursing education program has been completed for the first time. According to the Federal Statistical Office in Wiesbaden, only 1% of graduates chose to specialize. Since 2020, nursing educations have been unified, with specializations like pediatrics or geriatrics being voluntary. The goal is to boost the appeal of the nursing profession. Last year, more people began nursing training than in 2022, with nearly 147,000 currently in training, and women making up 75%.
