Never in the history of the United States of America has an election cycle been so divisive. On the democrat side of the isle, former Secretary of State and First Lady Hilary Clinton was fighting against issues related to trust and credibility while GOP candidate Donald Trump was battling against issues related to bigotry and sexism. It was difficult to find a single soul who believed either candidate was exactly what the U.S. needed as a leader.
The issues drove so many people on the left into a frenzy that a number of celebrities began staking their U.S. residency on the outcome of the election. In fact, there were more than a few Hollywood A-listers who promised to move out of the country should Trump win the election.
While people all over the world are trying to reconcile the results in their minds, the fact remains Trump did win the election and there are more than a few onlookers who are awaiting news on the soon-to-be relocating celebrities, but not so fast.
No sooner than the results became evident, one angry celebrity after another began back-peddling their original claims. Could it be that no matter who sits as President, America is still the greatest nation on earth? Maybe they were simply playing the role of a politician in a make believe movie where their character was required to say something stupid. The world will never know for sure because celebrities and politics make strange bedfellows.
So far, celebrities Chelsea Handler, Whoopi Goldberg and Amy Schumer have all come forward with new claims they were just kidding or had been incorrectly quoted. Really? Other celebrities that made similar promises include Cher, Samuel L. Jackson, Barbra Streisand and Miley Cyrus who are among a larger group of outspoken people surely being scouted for at local airports. That is unless they were all simply misquoted or being political advocates with no real conviction.
